Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. is a family of hardworking professionals with valuable experience in the Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling industry. Among us are Certified Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC), Certified Disability Management Specialists (CDMS), Certified Ergonomic Specialist (CEAS), PGAP Coaches, and administrative staff. Each vocational counselor within our firm is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (IARP), an international and statewide association directed by a board of professionals in the Vocational Rehabilitation field.

Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. has established firm operating locations across Washington State, including Yakima, Ellensburg, Wenatchee, Kennewick, Renton, Tacoma, Olympia and Spokane. We are proud to say that our vocational firm provides effective services that benefit injured workers, employers and that assist the Department of Labor and Industries in managing the efficiency and care of each claim involved in these services.

Michelle founded Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. in 2003. Michelle’s experience in the field extends further, as she has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor since 2000, providing exceptional vocational services with successful outcomes in the worker’s compensation field.

Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology from Central Washington University as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor as well as a certified PGAP Activity Coach.

Michelle serves as a Board Member on the Washington State board of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and is a member of the Washington Self-Insurers Association. Michelle also sits on the Advisory Committee for the Department of Labor and Industries Vocational Recovery Project.

Michelle is a dynamic, confidence instilling, audacious leader, ensuring that all necessary tools and resources are provided to advocate and counsel clients and protect employer liabilities, as well as to ensure that EVS reaches a superior level of success offering elite services. Michelle oversees key relationships and projects which contributes to the long-term stability and success of Eastside Vocational Services, Inc.

Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling and exploring the outdoors together.

Krista is Eastside Vocational Services, Inc.’s Firm Manager, part owner, and member of our Leadership Team. Krista joined our team in 2011 after graduating from Central Washington University with her bachelor’s degree. Krista is an active Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and PGAP Activity Coach.

Krista jumped on board with Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. and within two years became a Certified Disability Management Specialist. She is a proud member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals as well as a member of the Washington Self-Insurers Association.

Krista served as the Supervisor and Mentor to our Intern staff for two years prior to being promoted to Firm Manager. Krista loves a challenge and is hardworking, personable, and creative in her approach to problem solving with her clients. She enjoys helping employers understand the needs and abilities of her clients, as well as laws and resources available. After hours Krista can be found baking or watching movies with her husband and children.

Haley has been working in the Vocational Rehabilitation Industry since 2010. Through the years she has gained insight and knowledge about how the industry operates, and what it means to be an impactful and successful service provider. Haley is an active member of our Leadership team.

Having worked for Eastside in the beginning of her career, we were excited to welcome Haley back in the role of Chief Operating Officer and an active member of our Leadership team. Haley has experience in vocational rehabilitation administration, case management software and IT solutions, as well as corporate operations.

In her free time, Haley enjoys relaxing weekends with her family, camping, and a love of movies.

Deborah is a Certified Disability Management Specialist and Eastside Vocational Services, Inc.’s lead Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, she is also PGAP Activity Coach. Deborah ensures that clients receive the best ergonomic evaluations.

Deborah has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor since 2006 and is a member of Eastside Vocational Services, Inc.’s Leadership Team, and prior to this received a bachelor’s degree, double majoring in Sociology and Law and Justice specializing in Corrections from Central Washington University. Deborah is a proud member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and Washington Self-Insurers Association.

Deborah ensures that clients receive the best ergonomic evaluations aiding not only in our drive for injury prevention but for the safe and healthy return-to-work for those whom have already suffered an industrial injury. Deborah enjoys working closely with her clients to determine which of their skills and abilities will best suit them in their efforts to move forward with future employment.

Her past work of serving on the Kittitas County Diversion Accountability Board as well as working with Kittitas County Probation Services as a Community Service Supervisor assists in her ability to see the big picture for her clients and find the best solutions.

Deborah loves the outdoors and in her spare time enjoys hunting and fishing with her husband and kids.

Nathan earned his Bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University in 2012. Nathan has a diverse educational and professional background which influences his creative and professional approach to working closely with our clients and customers. Nathan loves to encourage clients toward understanding their strengths and the value they can provide to others.

Nathan enjoys leveraging his experience in the manufacturing industry to advocate, coordinate and encourage continued relationships between employees and employers.

Juliana earned her bachelor’s degree in Law and Justice from Central Washington University. Through her volunteer work with United Way of Central Washington, she has discovered how connected this community is and how far people will go to help other community members in need. She is beyond excited to be a part of people’s journey in reaching their occupational goals.

In her spare time, Juliana seeks the outdoors. Whether it be going to the park with her two sons or backpacking in the Cascades with her husband and friends, being outdoors serves as a way for her to take a break from the chaos of life and live in the present.

Lori has been with Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. since 2005. Lori knows this industry inside and out. Starting in an administrative role while still attending college, transitioning into a career as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern in 2008 after graduating from Central Washington University, and then ultimately transitioning out of her internship into a Certified Disability Management Specialist, Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in 2010.

Lori also fills other roles including work as a Progressive Goal Attainment Program Activity Coach, a Certified CASAS Testing Administrator, a Project Manager for our E-Services division and a member of our Social Media Team. Lori is a member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and the Washington Self-Insurers Association.

In her free time, you can find Lori camping and enjoying nature with her family and friends.​

Leslie began her nine years of working experience with Kittitas County, starting in District Court and soon after transitioning to Probation Services. Leslie was looking for a change in careers but knew that she wanted to still help people through difficult transitions in their lives. Leslie now enjoys working with injured workers, encouraging and assisting them through various vocational phases to move forward and on with their future occupational endeavors. Leslie is also a Progressive Goal Attainment Program Activity Coach. In Leslie’s free time she enjoys playing and hiking with her family, working in her garden, and pottery.

Jason earned his bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Central Washington University in 2011, and has since worked in bid management and international logistics. Jason is kind and compassionate, and has always enjoyed helping others succeed and achieve their goals. He is incredibly excited for his transition into his role within the vocational rehabilitation industry, where he will be able to use his diverse educational and work background to help clients achieve their goals.
On most summer evenings, Jason can be found on the softball field. He has also been known to play a video game or two. Jason and his wife happily make their home in Ellensburg, where they enjoy working with Young Life, going on long walks and bike rides, following sports (especially baseball), spending time with family and friends, and enjoying the arrival of their first child in September 2019.

Araceli describes herself as friendly, diligent, and caring. She enjoys spending quality family time with her daughter watching movies. Of utmost importance to Araceli is ensuring that she and her daughter visit extended family members in Chelan, Washington.

Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Western Governor’s University in 2018. She began her journey of vocational counseling in 2020 and it has since brought her here to Ellensburg where her and her son now reside.

Katie describes herself as personable and compassionate, she is the most fulfilled when she is helping others achieve their goals and helping them to succeed. She is eager to continue her transition into the role of vocational rehabilitation counseling where she will be able to use her previous experience working with clients in helping them to succeed.

Katie comes to us from Grays Harbor County where she grew up, a Native American and a member of the Quinault Indian Nation. She takes pride in her coastal heritage and enjoys learning the language and art of her culture. You can also find her playing the piano in her free time or exploring trails and beaches with her son.

She earned an M.S. in Family and Child Life in 2020 at Central Washington University as well as B.S. specializing in Family Science in 2019.

Alondra joined the Eastside Vocational Service, Inc team in 2017- 2018 as an Office Assistant and came back as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern in 2021. She earned an M.S. in Family and Child Life in 2020 at Central Washington University as well as B.S. specializing in Family Science in 2019.

Alondra has gained a variety of professional experience working in the field of social work. She initially started as a Career Development Counselor assisting individuals to become self-sufficient and overcome barriers to obtain their desirable occupation. She also gained experience as a Family Therapist teaching families personalized life skills by using evidence-based interventions. Alondra is passionate about helping others and helping individuals reach their personalized goals. During her free time Alondra enjoys time outdoors with her friends and spending quality time with her daughter.

Katy joined Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Intern in November 2023. Katy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University in 1997. Beyond college, Katy has explored many fields of opportunities including news radio, event planning, teaching in preK-12th grade classrooms, and in-home caregiving.

In addition to her bachelor’s degree Katy also has obtained her Nursing Assistant-Certified license, which is true to her spirit of caring and compassion for others. Katy has found vocational counseling to be a perfect transition from direct caregiving. Her natural skills will continue to be a great asset within this field, along with applying the experience she has working with people from varied and diverse backgrounds.

In her spare time, you can find Katy enjoying music, reading, going to a movie, and attending a concert or play. She loves adventuring to anywhere new, and spending time with her family, friends and snuggling with her enormous, and very hairy, Bernese Mountain dog.

Nick spent six and a half years in the United States Marine Corps.

Nick spent six and a half years in the United States Marine Corps as a Mobile Maintenance Facilities Technician in San Diego, CA, and a Marine Security Guard at the US Embassies in Tanzania, Iraq, and Estonia. He also worked as a computer sales associate at Best Buy, and lived in Casablanca, Morocco while working as a construction security guard. He enjoys all things technology and computers, photography, video games, cinema, travel, the outdoors, and riding his motorcycle.

Ryan was a fantastic human, an amazing Vocational Counselor and an inspiring leader. It is in his memory that we keep Ryan’s photo and bio on our website, to remind us and our fellows that while Ryan may no longer be with us, we strive to make him proud in the work we do and in the lives we live. We work every day to be kind, thoughtful, and inspiring to others as Ryan never failed to be.

Ryan joined Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. in November of 2016. After earning his Bachelor’s degree at Central Washington University, Ryan started working in the healthcare industry. Ryan initially started as a homecare provider but then moved to the role of Direct Care Supervisor where he coordinated services with patients/clients, their treating physicians, family members and the homecare providers. Ryan has always found himself working within the social assistance industry so moving from home healthcare to vocational counseling was an easy transition. Ryan feels that his current role fulfills his desire to help mankind overcome adversity. In addition to being a certified VRC, Ryan is our Intern Trainer and a member of our social media team. Ryan is also a member of our Leadership Team and a Progressive Goal Attainment Program Activity Coach. In his free time, Ryan enjoys playing guitar and traveling with his band, crafting stories for his Dungeons and Dragons group, smashing wicked forehands during tennis matches, and relaxing with his wife and son.

Kellie’s past work with Kittitas Valley Community Hospital as a medical record transcriptionist as well as personal transcriptionist for physicians, aids in her ability to understand the unique jargon within the vocational rehabilitation industry.

Kellie brings an easy-going and good humored personality into the mix all while providing expert skills and extremely valuable assistance to each counselor.

Karen joined Eastside Vocational Services, Inc. in August of 2021. She has been a transcriptionist since 2000, working mostly as a medical transcriptionist for many different specialties, but for a shorter duration also as a legal and vocational transcriptionist.
